Arlington Oaks is a beautiful neighborhood to live, characterized by its oak trees and other native plants and natural landscape which contribute to property values and which is recognized for its positive and responsible contribution to the broader Arlington County and Chesapeake Bay watershed community.

Mission

The Landscape Committee will seek constantly to ensure the beauty, diversity and optimal functionality of the property’s landscape for residents and the broader community through sensitive selection and management of landscaping strategies, by being responsive to community aspirations through regularly advertised and participatory meetings.

  3. The Committee will be responsible for the preparation and execution of the landscaping budget, which will be reviewed and approved by the Board.
  4. The implementation of landscaping contracts will be overseen by the Committee & Management.
  5. The Management Company will coordinate between contractors and the Committee and ensure that all work is reviewed and approved by the Committee prior to and subsequent to activities being carried out.
  6. The Management Company is responsible for the timely communication of contractor activities to the Committee.
  7. The Committee & Management will be responsible for communicating planned visits of contractors to residents so that necessary precautions can be taken.

Subject: Tree Canopy Fund Award

Congratulations! Were pleased to let you know that we have approved an award of $3,480 for planting 25 trees in your association. Please see the attached list of your approved trees.

Your project was one of 17 approved for funding this year.

What we need from you:
Please return one copy of the attached waiver form completed for each property where trees will be planted. The deadline for returning all waiver forms is September 30.
We need your help getting street addresses so the contractor can get to each of the proper locations for your trees. Please provide an exact street address for each planting location by September 30.
You should be prepared to stake the exact location of each tree to be planted.

We will be scheduling the tree planting this fall. We estimate the planting to start in October with the possibility of continuation through January or February, depending on the contractors availability and how quickly the trees can be planted. Well e-mail you with a firmer date when to expect your trees to be planted closer to the date of planting.

Were looking forward to working with you on this exciting initiative. Please dont hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

All the best
Elenor Hodges
