Return to List INSTALLATION OF NEW LAUNDRY EQUIPMENT HAS BEGUN - 5 ROOMS NOW COMPLETED AND CARD-VENDING KIOSK INSTALLED AT COMM. CTR.
Posted on May 9, 2010
As we near the reopening of our first laundry room with the new washers and dryers it's time for another update. The new washers and dryers do not accept coins or bills of any kind. Instead they are activated via a 'reloadable laundry smartcard'. Funds are added to these smartcards through a Value Transfer Machine (VTM). There will only be one of these machines on the property. It will be installed in what is presently a closet in the Community Center foyer. Funds or 'Value' can be 'Transferred' to your smartcard via credit or debit card transaction, US paper currency in $1, $5 and $10 denominations and when the final add-on is installed (about three weeks later, I believe) via telephone or internet credit or debit card transaction.
You may also purchase a new reloadable laundry smartcard at this station if you lose or misplace the one you have. The cards cost $10 and come preloaded with $4 for your use. The maximum amount you can load onto one of these cards is $100. Each unit owner will receive one smartcard at no cost. Please stop by the office sometime during the week that your favorite laundry room is being remodeled to pick yours up. Please try to stay near that approximate timeline. As much as we enjoy seeing all of you here at the office, you waiting in line while we're on the phone handling Association business, out inspecting the grounds or resolving some particular maintenance issue won't leave anyone happy or satisfied.
If you are renting your unit please contact your landlord at your earliest possible opportunity. The 'no cost' smartcard is their personal property. They must give the office staff specific direction to deliver the card to you, their tenant.
In the envelope with your smartcard you will also receive detailed instructions on how to operate the various features of the VTM. The office staff is also here to assist you. Please keep in mind we're new to this too so allow us a little time to familiarize ourselves with the machines.
