Area rinks are open or open this week. In addition to the existing venues at the National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden and Pentagon Row, there are new rinks in Georgetown (Canal Park in Georgetown’s Washington Harbour complex) and in the Capitol Riverfront neighborhood. There is also a new rink in Rockville Town Square. Canal Park’s specialty will be a class called Icersize, an aerobic workout performed on skates. This location will have many themed events, including sessions with people dressed up as cartoon characters for the kids and “Rock N Skate” nights with a DJ taking requests. And, of course, they will offer lessons. Enjoy the season!
