| American Disposal Recycling/Trash Info |
Posted on May 22nd, 2013
The Association’s trash and recycling services contract allows for five (5) days of trash service and one (1) day of recycling. Trash is picked up Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday and recycling is picked up on Wednesdays. Arlington Oaks has a recycling rate of over 60% so we are recycling more than what we put into the trash which is taken to the landfill, which is great!! When you are recycling boxes of any size remember to break them down fully so they aren’t taking up an unnecessary amount of space in the totters. If you have a large amount of recycling please bring your recycling to either of our recycling centers which are located at the Thomas Street parking lot and the parking lot next to the Community Center. WANT BEER IN A 2-LITER BOOT? - "SOCIAL HAUS" OPENS LATE MAY
The new owners of Velocity 5 (2300 Clarendon Blvd) in Courthouse say they’re planning to convert the 200-seat restaurant and bar into “Social Haus,” which they describe as “a traditional beer garden with a modern twist.” They’re hoping to renovate the restaurant soon — a project expected to take several weeks — and reopen it by the end of May. DO YOU HAVE "WATERSENSE"?
Save Water, Save Energy – Choose “ Watersense” certified products when shopping for a new toilet, faucets or shower heads! Community water costs are directly related to increases in our condo fees!
It takes a considerable amount of energy to deliver and treat the water you use everyday. American public water supply and treatment facilities consume about 56 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh) per year—enough electricity to power more than 5 million homes for an entire year. For example, letting your faucet run for five minutes uses about as much energy as letting a 60-watt light bulb run for 14 hours. More info. here.
